The BIG Torch

This setup is a real testament to repurposing…

I think the gauge is the only thing that we bought.

We use this torch for foundry work, flame patina, and soldering jewelry.

(that last one’s not true)

This is the torch without the shroud.

Complete with creamer decanter lid carburetor, made from exhaust pipe, robot parts, motorized bull float leveling plates and MIG welding tip.

It wouldn’t be complete without discarded telescope parts, pieces of an old drum kit and this beer keg furnace. (Thanks Sam for the Missou, castable refractory)

The crucible is an old oxygen cylinder, the lifting handle, an old pully mount. It’s all mounted on a break drum stand for convenience.

And

the hay rake dolly for moving the furnace.
